Why pay for PRO?

I upgraded to the PRO level version in believing it would unlock additional levels of play. Upon upgrading, ~1,000 coins were added to my account. However, now that I understand that the game has plateaued at level 5, what is the purpose of the extra coin? In fact, upon completing the last level, my account balance plummeted to 220 coins. I find this disappointing and feel that the "upgrade" is nothing more than a ripoff coated in the thinnest of gold vermeil.
